Facilities Technician

About the role

itel is hiring a full-time Facilities Technician in Vieux Fort, St Lucia, within its Environmental Health, Safety and Security area. The technician is responsible for the renovation and repair of the building and its systems, construction of additions, installation and repair of equipment, maintenance and general custodial care of the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs to buildings, grounds and facility systems across assigned trades
• Maintain tools, equipment and inventory in good working order
• Manage redundancy systems such as water pumps, tanks, generators and fuel systems
• Coordinate with vendors so that HVAC and other critical systems run efficiently
• Carry out routine inspections and address maintenance issues proactively
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs and stay on call for building emergencies
• Support site safety, security systems, emergency procedures and severe weather readiness
• Complete required reporting and other duties as assigned, including CCTV, ACS and transportation coordination

Required profile

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, painting, small engine mechanics, HVAC and custodial work
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable working in emergency or high-pressure situations
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Physical stamina and dexterity
• Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Valid driver's licence and access to a personal vehicle for work-related travel

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting and HVAC knowledge
