Credit & Collections Assistant

About the role

Digicel, a digital connectivity and communications provider serving nine million customers across the Caribbean, Central and South America, is hiring a Credit & Collections Assistant in Gros Islet. The role supports the management of customer accounts and the timely recovery of outstanding receivables, helping to improve cash flow, reduce overdue receivables and keep account records accurate.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a weekly collections report highlighting issues affecting departmental efficiency.
• Monitor lodgments and escalate issues to the Finance Controller where necessary.
• Work with the Shared Services Center so that cheque and cash payments are correctly applied to customer accounts.
• Monitor payment files from third-party services, correct errors and collect dishonoured cheques for posting.
• Reverse duplications and keep a monthly log.
• Keep bad debt targets and annual KPIs, and maintain a reporting system on delinquency ratios.
• Liaise with customers and inform Sales Leads, Digicel + and Digicel Business customer care about queries and payment plans.
• Post adjustments to accounts and keep a file for the Finance Controller to review.
• Follow compliance policy through regular dunning, revenue assurance audits and proactive debt management.
• Process customer rebates in a timely manner.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Business or Finance.
• Background in Customer Care and Accounting.
• 2-3 years of related experience is an asset.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) and accounting software.
• Communication, negotiation and debt recovery.
• Analytical thinking, attention to detail and financial reporting.
